The Soho Metropolitan Hotel is a high rise building located in the waterfront community of downtown Toronto. The architect firm that designed this modern multipurpose structure is Page and Steele architects. The building completed construction in April 2003 and minor construction followed until 2004, but when finished it was way ahead of its time. . The building consists of commercial, condominium and hotel parts, which are divided amongst sixteen floors. The building is divided in which the first four floors belong to the hotel only. Floors five through sixteen are divided amongst the other two condominium parts of the building. One of the most beautiful and amazing things is its terrace overlooking the community around it. From the terrace one is able to see surrounding neighborhood and park (Clarence Square) as well as many of Toronto’s famous landmarks and structures. Another very interesting aspect about the Soho building is that it homes a very unique and beautiful Chihuly. A Chihuly is an assembly of beautifully colored blown glass that creates all sorts of marvelous shapes and curves.
