Roy Thompson Hall was opened on 1982 and it costs $57 million. It was formerly known as New Massey Hall. Since there was a $4.5million donation from Roy Thompson, the name changed to Roy Thompson Hall. There were Government Houses and Canadian pacific Railway on its site (the current location of Roy Thompson Hall). Roy Thompson Hall has glass and steel structure of exterior wall and it is fascinating how Arthur Erickson uses the materials – glass, steel and concrete. It is amazing that 2000 different reflective glass panels became the whole exterior wall. Also, the landscaped park is beautiful and they can use for outdoor summer concert. This park is surrounded by Metro Hall, so it protects the noise from the traffic.
